IASTM

IASTM stands for "instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization." It is a type of manual therapy that involves the use of specialized tools to massage and manipulate soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The tools used in IASTM are typically made of stainless steel or another hard material and have smooth or textured edges that are used to apply pressure to the tissues.

The therapist uses the tools to apply targeted pressure to areas of the body that are experiencing pain or dysfunction, with the goal of breaking up scar tissue, increasing blood flow, and improving mobility and range of motion. IASTM is often used to treat a variety of conditions, including muscle strains, tendonitis, and other soft tissue injuries. It is often used in conjunction with other therapies, such as chiropractic adjustments, exercises, or cupping to help manage pain and improve overall health and well-being. The technique is generally considered to be safe and effective.

IASTM can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Muscle strains

  • Tendonitis

  • Ligament sprains

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Tennis elbow

  • Golfers elbow

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Myofascial pain syndrome

  • Other soft tissue injuries
